Carissa with a C
Carissa Off to Far Away Places-Needs Our Prayers
By the time you read this I will be a college graduate preparing to go to the Middle East for the summer.
These past four years have been the greatest blessings of my life. God did things and took me places I never dreamed of.
He introduced me to others who are pursuing my same path. I fellowshipped with and learned from as many people as I could. I found and embraced Biblical community.
I learned to trust God more. I learned he has a plan greater than I could even dream up. I learned faith overcomes fear. I learned I am only powerful when I submit myself to God’s work and authority. The Word says, “There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
That name covers my life. Even though I have no idea where God’s taking me next, I know he has a greater purpose than I have for myself. His will will be done, if I release control and humble myself before him.
God’s amazing. Don’t ever forget or doubt it. He’s working when we can not see it and tells us what we need to know, when we need to know it.
My team and I covet your prayers for our summer of teaching English in the Middle East. I will update the church when I can. God promised me this trip two years ago when I left Kenya and now the promise is being fulfilled. Please ask God to prepare the hearts of those we come into contact with: for seeds to be planted, watered, and sown. Please pray against spiritual attack and team unity. Please pray for protection: God is always with me. The safest place to be is in the middle of God’s will. Please pray for our adjustment to the cultural norms, because women do not have the same rights there as they do in the USA.
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’” Jeremiah 29:11.
“As you sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world,” John 17:18.
God bless,
